Before Cyra was taken, she and Arcan worked together to defend the people of Korvos.

Cyra at this point doesn't have the blades on her back. She received those after her modification into a Hagah. Originally her Toa form had them since she transformed after meeting Arcan, and so her idea of what a Toa is was shaped by him, the blades resembling his wings.

Now, however, they are deliberate modifcation on the part of her captors.
